    Article Snippet: Both the mouse colonic epithelial cell line (CMT-93) and the macrophage cell line (RAW 264.7) were purchased from ATCC (Manassas, VA) and maintained in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (PAA Laboratories) containing 100 U/mL penicillin, 100 μg/ml streptomycin, 2 mM L -glutamine, 2 mM sodium pyruvate and 10% fetal calf serum.

LPS also stimulates the expression of TNF-α, another cytokine influencing local and systemic inflammation. TNF-α may further stimulate SAA3 expression in the intestinal epithelium.
